Merry Christmas!

Here we Come Huntsville!

So, this weekend we headed off to Huntsville (Huntsvegas...as we like to call it) for a road trip.

Our mission: 1) To visit our friends and Ellie's Godfather Sam and his wife Leslie 2) to go the Christmas Village I kept hearing such great things about.

After eating lunch and hanging out for a bit Sam and Leslie gave Ellie her first Christmas Ornament (so special!). Then after visiting the Christmas Village with Santa Claus, Mrs. Claus, reindeer, elves, a snowman, a ginger bread man....and on and on....we made the journey home. Thanks for a wonderful visit to Huntsvegas Sam and Leslie!

mmm....paper
wow...there is actually something to this present thing...besides paper

Eating Oatmeal and Trying to Crawl

Two Things:

1) we are experimenting with solids. Oatmeal is ok, but we are not to sure about applesauce. However, when the two are mixed we like much it better.

2) trying to crawl...Ellie is getting up on all fours and rocking back and forth. Sometimes, she rocks back and forth so fast that she ends up launching herself into the nearest toy that's in her way.

Fall

Halloween is almost here and that can only mean one thing...Pumpkins!!! and cooler weather.
Ellie wanted so badly to visit a real pumpkin patch, so we packed up and headed to Hayden, AL. To our surprise it was way more than a pumpkin patch. There was an entire Fall Festival thing happening. But, there were hardly any pumpkins! I guess we will need to go earlier next year.
As for the cooler weather...we definitely took advantage of that as well and made our first trip to the Botanical Gardens. All this in just one weekend wore everyone out!

Trying to eat my first pumpkin...

Not really excited about Mom making Dad do this to me...

4 Month Check-UP

We visited Dr. Hodges yesterday for Ellie's 4 month check-up. Shots and screaming were involved, but Ellie is healthy and growing weighing in at 14.6 lbs and 25 1/4 in long. We got the go ahead to start some oatmeal at night...so spoon feeding will be our next adventure!

Ellie's First Stroller Date

Ellie had her first stroller date last night with Asher. Asher's about a month younger than Ellie and one of my good friend from BSC days son. I have a feeling this will be the first of many playdates to come. Asher was calm and relaxed the entire time, taking it all in. Ellie on the other hand was more interested in her hands and chew toy than the great outdoors.

Ellie is 4 Months!

Ellie was 4 months last Tuesday...but due to a snotty nose and Dad being out of town for the past 3 weeks we've sorta fallen behind on our updates. All that being said we are feeling much better thanks to Aunt Marie who graciously picked up a humidifier for us. Also, my Mom was with us last week to help with nasal treatments (Ellie did not like these at all) and just general day to day maintainence that comes with a baby (washing bottles, clothes, making sure that I got some sleep). Big Thanks to MOM! Now on to the newest videos and pictures of Ellie...

My New Game Day Shirt!

2nd Annual Slew Brunch.

Enjoying some Sunshine on Game Day!

Last weekend was very exciting and busy. We headed down to the lake first thing Friday Morning and had some quite time before the slew got busy. Saturday Ellie was still having some tummy troubles but Grandma Dot fixed that real quick we a procedure that neither Willie nor I wanted to do (Thanks Dot!). After that Ellie was good to go and enjoyed her first Bama Game with Friends and Family. Then on Sunday it was the 2nd Annual Slew Brunch.

Catching up

Ellie's been pretty busy these days with school, helping out around the house, sucking on fingers and what not. So, we haven't had much time for photo opps, but here are a few of the most recent.
I know I shouldn't eat my fingers....

But I just can't help myself...they are so yummy!

Please no light...I'm so tired!
I'm still tired!

So Sweet!

New Dress

Well I'm back at work! Ellie is spending the week with her grandparents before heading to daycare on Monday. I spent my last weekend before heading back at the lake with family and friends but forgot to take the camera so I've only got one phone pic. This is Ellie in one of her new dresses. I think she's going to be a girlie girl!

Tub Time

We've been working on getting our bed time routine down so hopefully Ellie will learn to sleep a little bit longer at night time. Last night Willie gave Ellie her bath all by himself...but I was their to supervise of course and to take video (proof). All kidding aside he's an excellent washer.

4th of July Activities

Ellie was able to take her first swim in the Lake over the 4th. Of course it had to be in her Birthday suit since they don't make swim diapers or bathing suits that small. Regardless of her attire I think it was a success and she seemed to enjoy it very much. Ellie also made her first appearance at Chimney Rock...thank goodness she was asleep and did not witness all the foolishness happening around her. Also, to anyone wondering...her pediatrician did ok her swim in the lake.

Every Girl Loves a Mirror

Ellie, true to girl fashion, found herself in the mirror on her floor gym the other day.

Friday, June 25th 2010

This past Friday we had our 4 week old check up. Eloise was 4 weeks and 3 days old. She weighed in at 9lbs 8oz and 22 inches long. Also, I experienced watching her get a shot for the first time. Who knew something so small could scream so loud!

But all in all, everything went good and she is right on track.

I remember giving my mother misery when I would have to get a shot...I'm sure I'll get it back twice as bad with Ellie.

What a since of relief and joy to know we've all made it a whole entire month...and for the most part every one's sanity is still in tact (including the dogs).
